2 more Maguindanao massacre suspects nabbed, 104 more at large

Two more suspects in the Maguindanao massacre case, one of them a former policeman, are now in government custody following their arrest in Maguindanao province on Wednesday morning, a police official said. The arrest of ex-PO2 Tanny Dalgan and Rakim Amil alias Ramil Kenog brought the number arrested suspects in the high profile case to 91. Authorities are still searching for 104 more. According to Chief Superintendent Samuel Pagdilao Jr., head of the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG), the two were arrested at 5 a.m. at Sitio Dansalan in Brgy. Panadtaban in Raja Buayan town, Maguindanao. The two each carried a P250,000 reward pursuant to Department of Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) Memorandum Circular 2010-53. They were arrested by virtue of warrants of arrest issued by Judge Jocelyn Solis-Reyes of Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 221. Pagdilao said during the investigation, Dalgan admitted that he was present during the actual killing of the 57 victims at Sitio Masalay in Ampatuan town on Nov. 23, 2009. Dalgan, he said, was a security escort of former Sultan sa Barongis town vice mayor Sukarno Badal. Amil, on the other hand, admitted that he was a member of Civilian Volunteer Organization unit that served as private armies of the Ampatuan clan, the family blamed for the massacre. Pagdilao said the CIDG, the lead agency investigating the massacre, “will continuously exert relentless efforts until all of the 104 remaining suspects at large have been arrested." — KBK, GMA News
