News agency: PHL lifted travel ban to Bahrain
Philippine officials have lifted a travel ban to Bahrain after its embassy reported life has returned to normal, Bahrainâs news agency reported Saturday. Bahrainâs state-run Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported this was the statement from Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain Corazon Bahjin. âShe also expressed profound thanks and gratitude to the government for the care accorded to the Filipino community in Bahrain, reflecting strong friendly relations between both countries," the BNA said in a report on its website. The BNA also quoted Bahjin as saying travel to and from the Philippines will be normal as usual. Bahjin also said a blood donation campaign was organized last June 3 by the Philippine Embassy in cooperation with Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) and the Filipino Club at SMC âin recognition of the Bahraini governmentâs efforts in looking after the Filipino community." Another blood donation campaign will be held on June 12 at the embassy to mark the Philippinesâ 113th Independence Day anniversary.â LBG, GMA News
