Hacker group leaks 10K emails of Iranian gov't

Hacker group Anonymous leaked online more than 10,000 emails of the Iranian government, a hacker news site disclosed Saturday. A news entry posted on The Hacker News site said Anonymous' OpIran leaked 10,365 emails "quietly" last June 2. "These files consist mostly of the Iranian government alerting individuals of their visa application status. According to a member of Anonymous, the files were aimed more to damage the image of Iran in 'both cyber space and the real world,'" it said. It said the files were taken after the hacker accessed the Iranian Passport and Visa Office email center. The emails can be downloaded as a 63-mb file, The Hacker News said. "The 63 mb file was released quietly by Anonymous. It was posted to file-sharing websites across the Internet," it added. — LBG, GMA News
