Binay convoy figures in minor accident in New York


One of the vehicles in a convoy of Vice President Jejomar Binay figured in a road accident in New York but Binay and the rest of the Philippine delegation were all safe. The accident occurred while the Philippine delegation was heading for an activity with the Filipino community, radio dzBB's Denver Trinidad reported on Monday. No one from the Philippine delegation was inside the vehicles that figured in the accident, the report said. Binay left last weekend for the US for a two-week visit, to learn more about housing finance at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is expected to be in the US until at least June 17, according to a news release on the Office of the Vice President website. The OVP news release said Binay was scheduled to attend a flag-raising and Independence Day parade on June 5 in New York City, the flag-raising on June 12 in Washington, and the Rizal Day celebration on June 17 in Monterey. - VVP, GMA News
