Dentists targeted in molestation, robbery incidents

The Philippine Dental Association has alerted its members about a series of crimes subjecting dentists to molestation and robbery, GMA News’ “24 Oras" reported Monday. In the “24 Oras" report, PDA president Dr. Roberto Tajonera urged dentists to install closed-circuit television or CCTV cameras and employ male bodyguards after a rise in complaints from various parts of Luzon about a new modus operandi targeting dentists. One of the victims, who requested anonymity, exposed the new modus operandi in an exclusive interview with “24 Oras."

Arlene said the suspect also tied her to a dental chair and molested her. “Tinututukan niya ako ng kutsilyo," Arlene recalled. “Nakakainis na rin yung nangyayari eh. Sobrang kapal na ng mukha nito, kasi walang nakakahuli sa kanya," the dentist added. The newscast said similar cases were reported in Bulacan, Antipolo, Marikina, and Manila. — PE/VS, GMA News
