2 cops hurt in anti-drug operation in Quezon City

Two police officers were shot and wounded during an anti-drug operation at a compound in Quezon City before dawn Thursday. At least eight people were rounded up in the operation at the Napocor Compound along Agham Road in Quezon City, radio dzBB's Roland Bola reported. Police are now tracking down the man who shot the two policemen, initially identified as SPO2 Neilbert Paul Lucas and PO1 Teodoro Casison. Lucas and Casison were rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment, the same report said. The two policemen were shot while following a tip that a pot session was being held in one of the houses inside the compound. A follow-up operation by the Quezon City police rounded up eight local residents. Police also seized 3.8 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu). Inside a house near the mosque in the area, police found drug paraphernalia like a lighter, a weighing scale, a plastic sachet with shabu residue, and P150 cash. But they also discovered secret passageways linking the houses in the compound, the report said. — RSJ, GMA News
