Cebu Pacific cancels 2 flights between Manila and Caticlan

Citing bad weather, air carrier Cebu Pacific on Thursday canceled two flights between Manila and Caticlan in Western Visayas. In an advisory on its Facebook page, Cebu Pacific said the flights are 5J-895 (Manila to Caticlan) and 5J-898 (Caticlan to Manila). "Affected passengers will be accommodated on the next available flights. You may also rebook within 30 days of cancellation or Travel Funds without penalties," it said. "We always place top priority in your safety; thank you for your understanding as it is beyond the airline's control," it added. Bad weather conditions had also prompted Cebu Pacific to cancel several flights on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said a low-pressure area west of Luzon will continue to bring rains to parts of Luzon and Western Visayas. PAGASA said the LPA was estimated at 70 kilometers south-southwest of Iba, Zambales as of 8:00 a.m. Thursday, and is moving west-northwest at 7 kilometers per hour. "These weather systems will bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Luzon and Western Visayas becoming widespread rains over the western sections of central and southern luzon which may trigger flashfloods and landslides," PAGASA said in its 10:30 a.m. advisory. - VVP, GMA News
