Report: Lovestruck Pinoy arrested for making scene in UAE

A "lovestruck" Filipino faces charges in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for making a scene in Sharjah’s Buhairah Corniche area earlier this week. According to a report of Khaleej Times, the 26-year-old Filipino was arrested for allegedly screaming, shouting, and throwing objects at motorists and passersby, and for threatening to jump from the roof of a building. Khaleej Times said the "initial investigation shows that the man had an argument with his girlfriend." "(He) went to the roof of a building in Jamal Abdul Nasser street and threatened to jump if anyone approached him. He removed his clothes and stood naked there shouting that his girlfriend had deserted him," the report said. A police patrol unit tried to talk to the man but he refused to respond and again threatened to end his life. The Sharjah Police sought the help of the Dubai Police which used a spray to sting his eyes. After the man fell to the terrace screaming, a police rescue team took him to Al Amal hospital in Dubai. A police official said the man would be referred to the Public Prosecution on the charges of attempt to suicide, if he is proved mentally normal. - VVP, GMA News
