Doctor warns vs skin-related problems due to cold weather

Cold weather causes the body to excrete less oil and sweat – its natural moisturizers – exposing the public to a host of skin-related problems, a dermatologist said on GMA News TV’s “On Call" program Thursday. “Siyempre, tuwing malamig ang panahon, hindi tayo masyadong nagpapawis, tapos ‘yung oil sa ating skin, mabilis matuyo – unlike tuwing summer na lagi tayong pinagpapawisan, medyo humid ang ating skin," said dermatologist Dr. Jean Marquez in an interview with “On Call" anchors Ivan Mayrina and Connie Sison. Explaining that moisture protects the skin from irritants and pollutants, Marquez gives a number of tips in the following video to keep the skin healthy during the rainy season.
