Weather: LPA to bring rains to Palawan, Visayas, Mindanao

A low-pressure area near Zamboanga City may bring rains to parts of Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao, state weather forecasters said Sunday afternoon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was estimated at 130 km north-northwest of Zamboanga City as of 2 p.m. It said the LPA is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao. "Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening," it said in its 5 p.m. bulletin. Meanwhile, PAGASA said moderate to strong winds blowing from the East to Southeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate blowing from the West to Southeast with slight to moderate seas. — KBK, GMA News
