Party food downs 150 guests in Bulacan


Local officials are investigating the incident where some 150 guests at a party in Bulacan province fell ill and were hospitalized after consuming spaghetti and other party foods. The guests complained of stomach pains, vomiting, and loose bowel movement (LBM) after the party in Calumpit town in Bulacan Sunday afternoon, radio dzBB reported on Monday. Calumpit town administrator Jojo Tomas said they have started inspecting the spaghetti and other food served at the party in Meysulao village in Calumpit town. Many of the hospitalized guests were children even as some of the victims were rushed to hospitals as far as Pampanga province, the report said. The initial investigation showed that of the 150 guests who were hospitalized, 79 were brought to the Calumpit District Hospital. At least 45 were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Hospital while nine were brought to the Ospital ng Hagonoy; and eight to the Sta. Cruz Hospital in Calumpit. Four were brought to a hospital in Apalit, Pampanga while some were brought to another hospital in Macabebe, Pampanga. - VVP, GMA News
