Construction materials prices remain flat in May

Prices of selected construction materials in May remained flat, the government said on Tuesday. In a report, the National Statistics Office said the month-on-month growth rate of the retail price index of selected construction materials in the National Capital Region eased to 0.2 percent in May from 0.5 percent in April. The NSO noted a decline in the index of masonry materials, with a 0.7-percent contraction; plumbing materials with a 0.3-percent slide; and tinsmithry materials with a 0.5-percent fall. Meanwhile, price increases were noted in electrical materials index and miscellaneous construction materials.
