NAIA police faces possible human trafficking charge

A Ninoy Aquino Airport Terminal 3 police officer is in trouble for supposedly aiding the illegal departure of two Filipino workers for Singapore. According to an investigation by the Airport Police Department (APD), PO2 Rolando Nator escorted two Filipino women using highly restricted walkways and corridors to the departure gates. The two left for Singapore onboard a Cebu Pacific plane on June 6 and were sent back the following day because the departure stamps on their passports were tampered, as they did not go through the Immigration counter. When news of the incident broke, APD chief retired Brig. Gen. Alger Tan reassigned Nator to the APD headquarters while the investigation was ongoing. But Nator has not reported for work since June 7. Official letters compelling Nator to report for duty and answer the charges against him have already been sent to his residence in Cavite, Tan said. Nator faces possible administrative and criminal charges for human trafficking. — BC/VS, GMA News
