'Hacktivists' target US Federal Reserve chairman

US Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke has now become the latest target of the hacktivist collective "Anonymous," which called on him to resign. In its blog, Anonymous questioned Bernanke’s claim on the television show "60 Minutes" that he can control the income disparity in the US, the world’s largest industrialized country. "Democrats have failed us, Republicans have failed us... It is time for us to stand up for ourselves... We must fight back against the organized criminal class... We must launch ‘operation Empire State rebellion.’ The operation will commence on June 14th...Operation Empire State Rebellion Engaged," it said. Anonymous first called for Bernanke to resign on March 12. It did not give further details of how it would carry out attacks against Bernanke. Earlier, another hacker group – LulzSec – broke into the computer systems of the US Senate but did not appear to take any vital information. — RSJ, GMA News
