Anonymous threatens 'impostor' hacker group in India

After gaining notoriety recently for its brushes with the governments of Spain and Turkey, the hacktivist group Anonymous now has to deal with a supposed impostor group in India. The group disowned attacks by a "self-proclaimed" hacktivist group calling itself "Anon-India" on some Indian sites. "The targets of Anonymous are the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats and the system which needed to be changed for a better tomorrow. The attack on Indian Army is condemned by Anonymous and we would like to mention that these all attacks are carried by these fake only and the very latest attack on Indian Registrar is also not carried out by Anonymous," Anonymous said in a statement posted on Pastebin (http://pastebin.com/vitfgMD7). It scored the "impostors" for supposedly taking undue advantage of the situation and the name and platform of Anonymous. The group named some members of the supposed impostor group, which it identified as ICA (Indishell). "You targeted organizations and other Indian Government properties to settle your own issues and you used the name Anonymous for personal benefits. By doing all this activities, you have not only hampered the image of Anonymous but you all are responsible for the damage caused to #OpIndia," Anonymous told the group. "Anonymous would like to make it very clear that no private groups and the people representing these groups belongs to Anonymous nor Anonymous supports any of your activities," it added. In past weeks, several members of Anonymous were arrested in Spain and Turkey, for supposedly attacking sites of the Spanish and Turkish governments. Anonymous had vowed to get back at the two governments for the arrests. — TJD, GMA News
