Anti-RH groups schedule talks in schools

Groups opposing the passage of the Reproductive Health (RH) bill will mount a campus tour to speak out against the bill and how it supposedly contradicts Filipino values. One group, "Filipinos for Life," will hold a talk at the St. Paul University in San Miguel, Bulacan on Thursday morning. “(The RH bill) undermines Filipino values such as bayanihan, family-centeredness, God-centeredness, respect, hospitality," speaker Noel Bernardo said in an article posted on the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) news site on Wednesday. Bernardo and Anthony Perez will speak on the supposed P3-billion RH bill before high school and college students, as well as faculty and administration of St. Paul University. Another group will also hold a talk with faculty and staff at Sta. Isabel College in Manila on Friday afternoon. The speakers on Friday include CBCP Legal Office executive secretary Jo Aurea Imbong, University of the Philippines Professor Aliza Racelis, and Anna Cosio. The Catholic Church is opposing the passage of the RH bill because it promotes both artificial and natural family planning methods. The Catholic Church accepts only natural methods of family planning. - VVP, GMA News
