HP launches cloud computing service

Hewlett Packard (HP) Philippines launched on Friday HP's CloudSystem technology which represents the company's anticipation of the growth of cloud computing in both the consumer and enterprise market segments. The HP CloudSystem is an integrated and open platform designed to help enterprises build and manage their services across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. HP CloudSystem features a self-service portal that facilitates the addition and removal of cloud and traditional IT services on demand. HP also assured that the CloudSystem could support customers' existing third-party servers, storage, and networking infrastructure. HP boasts of a new line-up of enterprise-level networking and storage solutions featuring Converged Infrastructure —an industry first, according to the company— in anticipation of the growing industry-wide emphasis on cloud computing. HP Philippines' Hans Bayaborda, country manager for enterprise servers, storage, and networking, drove home the benefits of HP's Converged Infrastructure by underscoring the company's capability to "improve enterprise agility." "(HP's Converged Infrastructure Solutions) extend the benefits of convergence to deliver new levels of speed, simplicity, and efficiency that enable clients to capitalize on and anticipate change," he explained. Bayaborda said the company's Converged Infrastructure Solutions address the usual enterprise need for efficient and scalable IT solutions by offering a common —or "converged"— management platform to handle shared pools of resources. — TJ Dimacali/MRT/VS, GMA News
