1 of 2 suspected robbers killed in Rizal province shootout

One of two suspected robbers was killed following an encounter with police teams in Taytay town in Rizal province before dawn Saturday. The incident occurred at a checkpoint in Taytay past 2 a.m., according to a report on dzBB radio. Police are tracking down the second suspect, who managed to escape during the encounter. The slain suspect was not immediately identified. He was wearing lavender shorts and a blue shirt and slippers. An initial investigation showed the two suspects were flagged down at a checkpoint, but they tried to speed past it. During the chase, the back-rider at the motorcycle jumped off and fled.
