Rain fails to stop DepEd's Rizal fun run in Manila
Early morning rain failed to stop a fun run organized by the Department of Education (DepEd) at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila. Most of the students expected to attend the fun run arrived at the Manila area before dawn, according to a report on dzBB radio. âWala kaming nare-receive na paabiso kung itutuloy o hindi. âExcept heavy downpour,â yan ang text sa amin kanina," said a teacher interviewed by dzBBâs Manny Vargas. A separate report on government radio dzRB said DepEd Secretary Armin Luistro led officials in attending the event. The fun run asks participants to bring donations or sign a pledge to support schools or help upgrade the standard of education. Completed forms will be submitted to the Local Registration Committee, where pledge forms/actual donations will be accounted for and turned over to the schools.
