Metro Manila cops keep tabs on school frats

In a bid to prevent fraternity-related incidents in schools, police in Metro Manila are monitoring leaders of fraternities operating in schools and universities. Metro Manila police head Chief Superintendent Allan Purisima said the police have drawn up a list of fraternity officers and will hold them accountable in case of trouble. Purisima said they are particularly wary of incidents such as rumbles, frat wars, and hazing, according to a report on dzBB radio. He said police will not tolerate frat-related violence especially if they occur outside school premises. On the other hand, he said the first two weeks of classes have so far been peaceful. Classes in public schools started last June 6, although classes in some private schools and in colleges started one week later. — LBG, GMA News
