Coast Guard: 105 stranded in northern Luzon, Bicol due to ‘Egay’

At least 105 people are still stranded, most of them in Aparri, as tropical depression "Egay" continued to threaten Northern Luzon Sunday night. The Philippine Coast Guard said as of 5 p.m. Sunday, 87 of the 105 stranded were from the Aparri area. It said at least 18 more were stranded in Pasacao in Camarines Sur. Aside from the 87 people, at least 10 motor bancas were also stranded in Aparri, the Coast Guard said. On the other hand, at least 13 cars — two in Virac and 11 in San Andres in Catanduanes — were still stranded as of Sunday evening. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) earlier said "Egay" was moving north and may exit Philippine territory early Monday. However, PAGASA also said a new potential cyclone may enter Philippine territory later this week. It will be codenamed "Falcon." — KBK, GMA News
