Man in Agusan dies after being attacked by his own carabao

A man in Agusan del Sur died after his carabao went amok and attacked him over the weekend, the local police said on Monday. The Region 13 Police Office reported that Ruben Diagrel Sanchez and his son went to pasture the carabao in a grassy area in their village in San Francisco town in Agusan del Sur last Saturday. The carabao reportedly "went wild" and attacked Sanchez, who died of multiple injuries. Sanchez's son was able to run for safety. "He (Sanchez) was attacked by his eight-year-old carabao and was fatally hit several times in the different parts of his body, causing his instant death," the police report said. "Elements of San Francisco MPS (municipal police station) immediately responded and contacted the Municipal Health Officer of San Francisco to conduct Post Mortem Examination on the victim’s remains," the report added. - Sophie Dedace, VVP, GMA News
