Google Doodle echoes with national anthems

At least 40 million songs have already been played in Google's doodle tribute to guitar legend and inventor Les Paul, but more than a few of them play a more patriotic tune than others. More than a week after the playable doodle's launch, many Internet users from around the world have tried their hands at playing their respective countries' national anthems, including the Philippines' "Lupang Hinirang" as rendered by a certain JeepneyTales. Other national anthems recorded by YouTube users using the famous Google Doodle—which has reportedly logged a total of 40 million songs to date—include that of the United States, India, Venezuela, Spain, Ireland, Russia, Egypt and Korea. Google's recent doodle has piqued the interest of music lovers and curious netizens alike, contributing to the estimated 10.7 million man-hours in lost productivity worldwide. http://www.gmanews.tv/story/223350/technologoy/global-cost-of-les-paul-google-doodle-107m-hours-268m Google has since given the Les Paul doodle a permantent home on its website, following online clamor to keep the interactive logo alive and playable any time users want.
