KIDAPAWAN CITY – Nine people were hurt in four separate vehicular accidents along the highway in this city Sunday night. Four of those injured were victims of hit-and-run, reports from the police said. Around 7: 30 p.m., 59-year old Romeo Alonzo was hit by a speeding tricycle while walking along the highway in Barangay Manongol. The still unidentified tricycle driver just left Alonzo crawling on the cemented road, one of the victim's relatives said. The area was too dark that the bystanders failed to get the control and plate card number of the tricycle that hit the victim. Around 8 p.m. that same night, two motorists were injured, one of them seriously, when the motorcycle they were riding was hit by another vehicle of unknown type. Injured were Junie Udas, 39, driver of Yamaha motorcycle, and passenger Johann Yaplag, 40, both residents of Barangay Kisandal in Magpet, North Cotabato. Yaplag, according to his attending physicians at the Madonna General Hospital, is in critical condition due to severe head injuries. Three hours later, another hit-and-run victim was rushed to the hospital after the motorcycle she was riding was hit by another vehicle while traversing the national highway. The injured was identified as Maritess Calicdan, 23, cashier at the Blue Side Karaoke Bar in Makilala town. The driver, identified as Roel Olviz, was unhurt. Calicdan was also severely hit on her head. At 10:45 p.m., five people were injured, two of them drivers, when their motorcycles collided along the highway in Barangay Magsaysay. Injured were Jerome Sandiala, driver of a motorcycle with a sidecar; Roino Colinates, 24, driver of Yamaha STX motorcycle; and passengers Joel Amos, Johnny Ramos, and Jun Rey Bolamo.
