Report: Hunt on for Korean who abducted fellow Korean in Negros

Authorities are hunting down a Korean who abducted a fellow Korean in Negros Oriental over the weekend and claimed a ransom of 7.5 million Won (P301,000). Korean pastor Rev. Daniel Youngku Jee identified the victim as Hong Kuy Ui, a student of Foundation University in Dumaguete City, the news site Visayan Daily Star reported. The Dumaguete City police are now tracking the whereabouts of suspect Lee Yoon Pyo, who allegedly invited the victim for snacks at a fastfood joint before going to the suspect's boardinghouse. Once there, the victim said the suspect handcuffed him. Fearing for his life, the victim said he contacted his father, Hong Seong Soo, and asked for 7.5 million Korean Won, pretending he had met an accident. According to the report, the victim said Lee went missing after his father deposited the money to the suspect's bank account. The report described the suspect as someone in his 40s, bald, with tattoos on his body, and with scars on his arms due to smoke burns. - VVP, GMA News
