2 killed, 4 hurt in Jolo blast — police


Two people were killed while four others were wounded when a fishing dynamite exploded in Jolo town in the southern Philippine province of Sulu on Wednesday, a police spokesman said. Killed in the incident were Idsih Hadjula, 35, and his wife Ruby Hadjula, according to Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., spokesman for the Philippine National Police (PNP). Three of the four injured were identified as Insani Sandalan, Andong Sandalan and Habier Sulaiman. Cruz said the explosion occurred at 10:40 a.m. in Zone 2, Barangay Tulay in Jolo while Idsih was fixing the dynamite’s detonators, locally known as “kit," to be delivered and sold to the market. The incident happened more or less 300 meters from the Jolo Grand Mosque. — KBK, GMA News
