Weather: Rain forecast for weekend as Falcon makes wet exit

Rain will most likely continue into the weekend in Metro Manila even if tropical storm "Falcon" (Meari) leaves Philippine territory this weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Friday. As of Friday afternoon, rain was pouring over much of Metro Manila. Many areas reported flooding. However, PAGASA forecaster Jori Loiz said the rains will no longer be as heavy as what pounded and flooded Metro Manila Thursday. "Ang pag-ulan na ito aabot ng Sabado sa Metro Manila (pero sa) Sabado medyo light na, mahina na, at improving ang weather natin (This rainy weather may extend to Saturday but we can expect the weather to be an improvement over Thursday)," Loiz said in an interview on "News to Go." In an earlier interview on dzBB radio, PAGASA forecaster Gener Quitlong said that while the worst of the rains appears over as "Falcon" moves away from Bicol and Central and Southern Luzon, rains are still expected. "Maulan pa rin, pero habagat din ang nakakaapekto doon (It will still be rainy, but this is due to the monsoon)," he said. On Friday, PAGASA said "Falcon" may move out of Philippine territory and head towards Japan as early as Saturday. But PAGASA said "Falcon" is still expected to enhance the southwest monsoon and will bring rains over Luzon and Visayas. - HS, GMa News
