A mild tornado ravaged some parts of Kamuning in Quezon City at noon on Friday, causing minor damage to houses and uprooting trees and toppling electric posts within the area, responding authorities said. The Quezon City government's Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS) said roofs of houses lay sprawling in the residential area near Judge Damian Jimenez St. corner Eulogio Rodriguez Sr. Ave. following passage of the tornado, or "buhawi" in Tagalog. Bobby Cordero of the DPOS radio room said that while the tornado brought debris with it, there were no reported injuries after the incident. "Hindi naman naapektuhan ang traffic sa area," Cordero told GMA News Online.

He said adjacent parts of Tomas Morato, Kamias and Balete Drive also experienced the effects of the tornado. He added that they have already alerted the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) for clearing operations in the area. Internet users on Twitter and Facebook, meanwhile, provided perspectives on the ground following the passage of the tornado. Recording artist Jimmy Bondoc, through his Twitter account, posted: "Taga qc, tomas morato, kamuning area po kami. Dito po dumaan ang buhawi. Everyone, be safe. And check your rooftops, windows, etc for loose debris." User Jean Moleno, meanwhile, said other debris were found along the path of the tornado: "May mga natumbang puno daw po sa kalye," she said. "Tornado hit between 1200-1230pm. Dad's roof is gone and it left a big hole in his ceiling and walls. Good thing nobody got hurt," added user sarah_nocon.
A Facebook user, Gilda Abat said: "wow! a whirlwind passed by our FORAB building, blew the tables in the roofdeck to the 2nd floor through the fire exit, and broke glass walls and windows. scary moment. good thing nobody was hurt. thank you, Lord. Friday's tornado is the latest in a series of devastation caused by Tropical Storm Falcon (Meari), following high floods and massive traffic jams on Thursday night. Classes in Metro Manila and other neighboring provinces were suspended Friday, due to expected heavy rains throughout the day. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Falcon is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility as early as Saturday.
