PAL: Operations remain normal but with slight delays

Except for some "minor delays" due to prevailing weather conditions due to Tropical Storm Falcon (Meari), flag carrier Philippine Airlines assured the public its operations for Friday remain normal. In a 2 p.m. flight advisory, PAL said its all-jet fleet of airplanes can operate safely, although with slight delays on 17 international and 21 domestic points. "Among those dispatched today are two replacement flights to accommodate passengers of yesterday's cancelled flights to Los Angeles (PR102/103) and Tacloban (PR393/394)," it said. Passengers of the cancelled PR277/278 Thursday were also flown on Friday's regular morning flight to Legazpi. According to PAL, the 310 passengers of the canceled Los Angeles flight were booked in various hotels while waiting for their next flight. "The cancellations were due to Thursday's heavy rains, widespread flooding and a massive traffic jam that prevented passengers and airline crew enroute to (the Ninoy Aquino International Airport) Terminal 2 to arrive in time," PAL said. — RSJ, GMA News
