Report: Pinay allowed to keep baby after dumping it in trash in UAE

A Filipina maid received a suspended one-month jail sentence for throwing her baby into a garbage dump in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Gulf News site reported on Friday. According to Gulf News, police sources said the presiding judge sentenced the Filipina for leaving her newborn baby in a garbage dump in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), UAE. However, the sentence will be suspended for three years for humanitarian reasons, Gulf News said. The report said the judge felt sorry for the woman and also wanted the baby to stay with his mother to breastfeed and care for him. The report said an Asian woman found the baby and brought him to the police and later to a hospital, where the infant was given treatment.
