No weekend classes in NCR colleges due to rains, floods


At least 19 colleges and universities in Metro Manila have suspended their classes this weekend. The schools issued their announcements following guidance from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) that higher education institutions (HEIs) have the discretion to decide on class suspension on account of bad weather. The HEIs sent out their respective notices through Facebook and Twitter. Weekend classes were suspended by:

  • St. Scholastica’s College
  • St. Paul – Manila and Quezon City
  • De La Salle University
  • College of St. Benilde
  • University of the East – Caloocan and Manila
  • Polytechnic University of the Philippines
  • University of Santo Tomas
  • Far Eastern University
  • Letran College
  • San Beda College – Mendiola and Alabang
  • Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila
  • City College of Manila
  • Rizal Technological University
  • Miriam College
  • Ateneo de Manila University
  • Philippine Women’s University
  • Trinity University of Asia
  • University of Asia and the Pacific
  • Taguig City University
In a report, GMA News' "Saksi" newscast also said that over a dozen schools in Metro Manila have suspended classes this weekend.
