Hacker groups LulzSec, Anonymous attack gov't website

The hackers behind a string of attacks on government websites worldwide struck in the Philippines, hitting the site of the Philippine Broadcasting Service. As of 4 p.m. Saturday, visitors to several pages in the PBS site were redirected to a new site that bore the logos of LulzSec and Anonymous. Earlier, LulzSec and Anonymous had teamed up to attack government sites worldwide through their "Operation #Antisec." The PBS site is the online home of government-run radio stations, including dzRB "Radyo ng Bayan" in Manila. While the home page did not appear defaced as of 4 p.m. Saturday, visitors who clicked on some links were redirected to http://madoka.fileave.com/lulz.htm. The redirected site contained not only the logos of LulzSec and Anonymous, but also an embedded YouTube video playing LulzSec's theme song. At the bottom of the page was a link that directed visitors to an article on the danger with the Cybercrime Prevention Act. The article discussed the House Bill 6974, or the proposed Cybercrime Prevention Act. Before Saturday's incident, some Philippine government websites had been attacked by "Filipino" hacker group Philker, which said it merely wanted to raise awareness about Philippine websites' security. — JE, GMA News
