PAGASA: Monsoon still affecting Northern, Central Luzon

Tropical storm “Falcon" may have left the Philippines, but Northern and Central Luzon may still experience monsoon rains, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Saturday. “Northern and Central Luzon including Metro Manila will experience monsoon rains becoming widespread rains over the western section which may trigger flashfloods and landslides," PAGASA said in its latest bulletin. Southern Tagalog will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, it said, adding that the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. PAGASA also said moderate to strong winds blowing from southwest will prevail over Luzon and coming from southeast to southwest over the rest of the country. Coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be “moderate to rough," state weather forecaster said. Meanwhile, PAGASA issued a gale warning where it said “strong to gale force winds" are expected to affect the seaboards of Luzon. “Fishing boats and other small sea crafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves," it said. — JE, GMA News
