Dacer lawyer to Michael Ray Aquino: Come clean
The lawyer of the family of slain veteran publicist Salvador Dacer urged former Senior Superintendent Michael Ray Aquino on Sunday to “come clean" on the 11-year-old case, now that he is back in the Philippines. Demetrio Custodio insisted Aquino may know something about the case since he was the highest-ranking official of the defunct Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force (PAOCTF) in the supposed operation to neutralize Dacer, who was killed in November 2000, together with his driver Emmanuel Corbito. “We’ve always been saying that what Michael Ray Aquino knows is important to the solving of the case. Siya ang pinakamataas na opisyal ng PAOCTF. Sigurado kami na meron siyang nalalaman," he said in an interview on dzBB radio. He also contested Aquino’s statement that he received no order from former President Joseph Estrada or from now-Senator Panfilo Lacson to harm Dacer. “May nag-utos diyan, may nagsabi riyan (Somebody had to give him orders)," he said. “How can you force anyone to tell the truth when telling the truth will incriminate him? Hindi pwedeng multo ang gumawa nyan (It cannot be the work of a ghost)," he added. He advised Aquino to “come clean" on the case. “Anyone who knows anything about the crime should come clean," he said. — LBG, GMA News
