621 Pinoys benefit from 'Embassy on Wheels' in KSA
Some 621 Filipinos in Saudi Arabia benefited from the Philippine Embassyâs latest outreach consular services called "Embassy on Wheels" in the Kingdomâs eastern region last week. The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh said it encoded the ePassports outreach consular services in Dammam, Saudi Arabia from June 23 and 24. âWith four encoding machines at its disposal, the team was able to encode 621 ePassport applications and three replacements for lost passports, processed 138 notarials, five authentications, 26 reports of birth, and 174 passports amendments/extension and one travel document," the Embassy said in a news release posted on its website on Monday. The consular service, held at the Al Jazeera International School in Dammam, was part of the embassyâs commitment to extend such services monthly in the eastern region. Charge dâAffaires Ezzedin Tago, who is currently in Kazakhstan on an official trip, thanked the Filipino community volunteers, led by the All-Filipino Sports Committee for their help. âWithout the help of the community leaders and volunteers, we would not be able to extend consular services to such a big number every month," Tago said. The next âEmbassy on Wheels" will be in Buraidah, Al Qassim in the Central Region on July 7 to 8 at the Al Salam Hotel in Buraidah, Al Qassim. - VVP, GMA
