Weather: No cyclone in NCR despite rain, PAGASA says

The rain that fell on Metro Manila Thursday afternoon was not caused by a cyclone but by an isolated thunderstorm, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). In its 5 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA also said an intertropical convergence zone may trigger flash floods and landslides in Visayas and Eastern Mindanao. "Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over Visayas and Eastern Mindanao which may trigger flashfloods and landslides," it said. The rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening, it added. Light to moderate winds blowing from the East to Southeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the Southwest to West over the rest of the country. PAGASA added the coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. — KBK, GMA News
