Bahrain rehiring Pinoy medical workers — envoy

Bahrain has signified interest in recruiting Filipino medical workers, a Philippine envoy in that country said, according to a report on news site Trade Arabia. According to the report, Ambassador Corazon Yap-Bahjin said the travel ban to Bahrain has been lifted with the exception of non-essential travel to the country. “I don’t think we are replacing those who lost their jobs [due to the unrest], but it’s because the demands are great at the Royal Hospital and the King Hamad Hospital... The American Mission Hospital also needs staff," she said. But while Bahrain is interested to hire Filipino workers, the embassy is also assisting for overseas Filipino workers who had a problem with their sponsors. — OFW Journalism Consortium
