28 trafficking victims in Sabah wait for police rescue

About 28 undocumented Filipino workers in Sabah, Malaysia, are now waiting for police rescue. Zamboanga Times last week quoted one the parents of the 28 workers as saying that his son is being maltreated in a plantation workplace. The parent has sought the assistance of Philippine Center on Transnational Crimes (PCTC) national executive director Felizardo M. Serapio Jr. The parent related that his son, along with 27 others who are mainly from Zamboanga Sibugay, left last January 4. Serapio has already instructed PCTC Region 9 field officer Supt. Celso Bael to coordinate with different government agencies the international police to be able to rescue the 28 victims of human trafficking. — OFW Journalism Consortium
