Phivolcs: 3 quakes rock Isabela before midnight Tuesday


At least three quakes rocked Isabela province in northern Philippines before midnight Tuesday, but there was no initial report of damage or casualty. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the first quake was recorded at 11:04 p.m. and measured magnitude 2.9. It said the epicenter was 24 km southeast of Palanan, Isabela. A second quake was recorded at 11:13 p.m., measuring magnitude 2.0. Its epicenter was 11 km northwest of Ilagan, Isabela. The third quake was recorded at 11:29 p.m., and measured magnitude 2.9. Its epicenter was 21 km southwest of Palanan, Isabela. No damage or aftershock was expected from the quakes, Phivolcs said. — RSJ, GMA News
