World's fastest one-handed iPad typist hits 5 letters per second

No less than a presidential son is now a world record holder for typing on an Apple iPad tablet, at a blistering rate of 4.94 letters per second. Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili's son, Eduard, 15, received a Guinness World Record for for typing out the English alphabet on an iPad in 5.26 seconds with his right hand, FoxNews reported. Eduard broke the record of British teenager Charlie McDonnell in 2010 at 6.31 seconds, the report said. "I am very happy," FoxNews quoted Eduard as saying on Georgian TV, adding that he spent months getting ready for the unusual event. FoxNews reported that an observer from Guinness World Records in the former Soviet republic's Black Sea resort of Batumi documented the feat. According to the FoxNews report, Eduard's mother Sandra Roelofs said the whole family had been nervous. "Our whole family has been nervous. I am a very proud mummy today," she said. — TJD, GMA News
