Pinoys biggest group of new naturalized Americans

Over a tenth of Filipinos out of some 525 foreigners became naturalized Americans during the US Independence Day celebration at Seattle Center. Filipinos make up the biggest number of naturalized Americans in the Seattle ceremony with 55, the Seattle Times reported earlier this week. The other big groups of naturalized Americans who took their Oath of Allegiance were Mexicans (39) and Indians (36). The 525 naturalized Americans and formerly local immigrants and refugees came from 83 countries. Across the US, over 24,000 took their oath on July 4. — OFW Journalism Consortium
