UAAP: Know your 2011 Men's Basketball Teams

Will the Blue Eagles continue to rule the men's basketball tournament? Can the Tamaraws put behind their dismal performance in last year's finals? Which rookie can make an immediate impact for their team? These and other questions will be answered when the men's basketball tournament of the 74th UAAP season opens on Saturday at the Marikina Sports Complex. Expect a balanced competition this year with all eight schools scrambling to get blue chip rookies to beef up their respective rosters during the offseason. NU coach Eric Altamirano even commented that any team can beat anybody at any given day. Among the big name players that hogged the headlines the past few months are two-time UAAP juniors Finals MVP Kiefer Ravena (dubbed the Phenom) and former Pilipinas-Smart Gilas member Greg Slaughter of Ateneo, Bobby Ray Parks of NU and ex-Philippine youth player Kevin Ferrer of UST. Here is a quick look at the composition of the eight teams this season.
