Fire razes 100 houses in Cebu City

Fire of undetermined origin razed at least 100 houses in Cebu City Saturday afternoon. Initial investigation showed the fire started about 5:30 p.m. and spread quickly as many houses in there were made of light materials, radio dzBB reported Sunday. Arson investigators are verifying information the fire started after an explosion at a house in the area. A separate report on dzXL radio said some 200 families may have lost their homes in the fire at Tenejero village. The dzXL report said the fire reached the general alarm and required the assistance of firefighters from the city and neighboring areas.
