Cop killed in predawn encounter in Muntinlupa City

A policeman was killed in a predawn encounter with two suspected troublemakers at a commercial establishment in Muntinlupa City on Monday. The police are now tracking down the two suspects who fled after the encounter, according to a report by radio dzBB's Paulo Santos. The victim, initially identified as PO1 Alvin Amac, was shot in the chest and was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital. The initial investigation showed that the incident occurred at 1:30 a.m. when Amac and SPO1 Ernesto Parra rushed to a commercial establishment in the Alabang area where two drunk men were allegedly firing their guns. The report said that when the policemen arrived, the troublemakers engaged them in a shootout near a footbridge near the establishment. After shooting Amac, the suspects escaped on foot.
