Maynilad: Parts of Sampaloc in Manila may have waterless weekend

Parts of the Sampaloc district in Manila may have a waterless weekend as water concessionaire Maynilad Water repairs a leaky pipe there. Maynilad on Wednesday said its crew will work on the 750-mm pipe along Maria Clara Street near A.H. Lacson from 10 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday. It said the repair may interrupt water services in:

  • Barangays 311, 315-325, 337-343, 349-352, 363, 462-472; and
  • Areas bounded by Lacson, España, A. Mendoza, Rizal Avenue, Tayuman, Felix Huertas, and Old Antipolo–Algeciras and Dimasalang, including SM San Lazaro & UST in Manila.
"The repair activity is expected to prevent further loss of water, improve water pressure in parts of Manila, avoid water contamination, and help manage the water supply in the West zone efficiently," Maynilad said. Maynilad advised customers in these areas to store enough water for the duration of the service improvement project. Customers may call the Maynilad Hotline 1626 for updates and additional information, it added. — LBG, GMA News
