Fire hits residential area in Pasay, disrupts LRT ops

A fire hit a residential area in Pasay City Friday morning, disrupting the operations of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 passing through the area. LRT-1 spokesman Hernando Cabrera said they had to go into "half-line operations," suspending trips between the Central Station in Manila and the Baclaran terminal. "Sinabi ng safety officers namin na unsafe para sa tren na dumaan sa area na yan kaya nag-declare kami ng half-line operation. Pansamantala, walang biyahe ang Baclaran to Central Station or vice versa," Cabrera said in an interview on dzBB radio.

He said the LRT-1 will continue operating between Central Station in Manila and the Roosevelt Station in Quezon City. A separate report by dzBB's Denver Trinidad said the fire hit a residential area near the corner of San Isidro Street and Taft Avenue in Pasay City.
