Bishop: PCSO chief's apology not enough

Mere words of apology from Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office chairperson Margie Juico for dragging some prelates into the PCSO scandal are not enough, a Catholic bishop said. In a report on GMA Network's "Unang Balita" aired Friday, Cotabato Auxiliary Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo said "the best apology that they can do ay magbitiw sila sa kanilang trabaho. And therefore we ask the [PCSO] chairperson [Juico], the most 'gentlemanly' way of making an apology is for her to resign."
On the other hand, the television report quoted Juico as saying: "Dapat they [bishops] should practice love." Earlier, Juico said she was sorry for whatever the controversy has caused the bishops involved. Also, the report said four of the seven bishops who faced a Senate probe for receiving vehicles from the PCSO have already returned the cars. The three other vehicles will be brought to Manila from Mindanao. Meanwhile, the vehicles that have been returned will be up for auction, and that PCSO officials are just waiting the Commission on Audit to lay down the mechanics. — LBG, GMA News
