PHL Embassy to hold outreach consular services in Virginia


The Philippine Embassy in Washington will hold this August outreach consular services for Filipinos based in Richmond, Virginia. The Embassy said the services will be held on:

  • August 12: From 10:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., and
  • August 13: From 9:00 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. "The Embassy’s consular team will accept and process applications for electronic passport (ePassport), notarization of documents, and registration of births and marriages," the Embassy said in a news release. The Embassy added the consular services with be held at the Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 8200 Woodman Road, Richmond, VA 23228. Aside from passport processing, the outreach program will also include an oath-taking ceremony on August 13 for those who will reacquire their Filipino citizenship. However, only applicants who will send their applications to the Embassy not later than August 5 will be eligible for this oath-taking. Passport applications Passport applicants will not be required to bring photos as they will have their photos taken using ePassport data capturing machines at the outreach. Applicants will have to bring the following requirements:
  • their current passport, photocopy of the passport page that has their name and photo;
  • the passport application form which may be downloaded from www.philippineembassy-usa.org;
  • an application fee of $60.00 (in cash or money order); and
  • a self-addressed stamped envelope (Express mail with tracking number), or a prepaid courier envelope. Passport applicants without appointments cannot be accommodated, the Embassy said.
