CEU-Manila grads dominate top 10 list of new optometrists


A total of 54 out of the 63 examinees passed the Optometrist Licensure Examination given in Manila in January 2011, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Monday. [Click here for complete list of passers.] Topping the list of successful examinees was Kendrick Nigel Co Tan from the Centro Escolar University (CEU)-Manila, with 90.35 percent, followed by fellow CEU-Manila graduates Biane Abigail Yu Tan and Manuelo Omac Andot, with 88.52 percent and 88.42 percent, respectively. Completing the top ten were: 4. Michelle Garcia Dagta (CEU-Caloocan) — 88.23 percent 5. Nikko Flores Cataquiz (CEU-Manila) — 88.39 percent 6. Monalyn Cabañez Contreras (CEU-Manila) — 87.29 percent 7. Javelin De Castro Dela Rosa (CEU-Manila) — 86.80 percent 8. Daisy Borja Cadenas (CEU-Caloocan) — 86.02 percent 9. Jose Luziel Ann Flores Camaya (CEU-Manila) — 85.83 percent 10. Ma. Krisaliz Peria Cuaresma (CEU-Manila) — 85.60 percent The PRC said the registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 and end on July 27, 2011. The oath-taking ceremony for those who passed this year’s examination as well as other passers who have not taken their oath will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Boracay Ballroom of the Sofitel Plaza Manila, Pasay City. — JE, GMA News
