Palace expects full probe into QC bank heist

Quezon City police should immediately conduct a full investigation into a daring bank heist by heavily armed men Friday afternoon, a Malacañang official said Saturday. “Sana maimbestigahan agad ito ng hepe in charge sa area. May instances na gumagamit ng uniporme ng pulis o sundalo ang mga masamang loob," said Abigail Valte, President Benigno Aquino III’s deputy spokesperson. Valte said the Palace is hoping no police or military personnel were involved in the robbery despite the high-powered weapons used.
On Friday afternoon, at least seven men armed with armalite rifles held up the Bank of Philippine Islands branch in Quezon City and fled with an undetermined amount of cash. Quezon City Police District director Chief Supt. George Regis said no one among his men was hurt in a brief shootout between the robbers and a police team. Initial investigation showed at least three of the suspects entered the bank posing as customers while the other four served as lookouts. — JE, GMA News
